On September 19th, the SUNGJOO Foundation, the philanthropic branch of MCM led by our Chairperson Mrs. Sung-Joo Kim, celebrated 140 years of Korea and Italy by hosting its first Korea-Italy Fashion Tech Alliance Forum at the Museo Nazionale Scienza e Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci in Milan.

Co-hosted and moderated by former CNBC anchor Chloe Cho and Consul General from Korea in Milan Mr. Choi Taeho, Giuseppe Sala, Mayor of Milan and Oh Se-hoon, Mayor of Seoul delivered the opening remarks before leaving the stage to some incredible speakers. Attendees included representatives from Milan’s City Hall, the most innovative fashion-tech companies of the moment, and top Italian and Korean academic institutions.

The event offered an extraordinary lineup of visionary thinkers and future shapers an opportunity to discuss – and to shape – the future of fashion, powered by digital technology, AI, the metaverse, and more.

Sung-Joo Kim has been Chief Visionary & Sustainability Officer and Chairperson of MCM since 2005. Alongside her remarkable résumé as a leader in the Korean and global fashion industries, Mrs. Kim is a passionate philanthropist who works with several non-profit organizations internationally to promote female entrepreneurship and sustainability in fashion.
